Numeracy
Research Project (2001 � 2003) This is a cross-sectoral (EDWA,
CEO and AISWA) research project ($0.5 million) commissioned by DETYA
and hosted by the Centre for Learning, Change and Development at
Murdoch University. Redgum Consulting developed the proposal and
is directing the research. The project is using both quantitative
and qualitative methods to investigate primary students� capacity
to use mathematics across the curriculum.
Middle Years
Numeracy Research Project (2002/2003) The Australian National
Schools Network in partnership with the University of Canberra and
Redgum Consulting has been contracted by the ACT Department of Education
and Children�s Services to conduct a teacher action research project
focusing on numeracy across the curriculum.
Numeracy
Across the Curriculum Booklet (2001/2002) Contracted by the
NSW DSP to write a booklet on issues pertaining to numeracy across
the curriculum using examples from the research circle ran with
teachers in NSW in 2000.
School Planning Framework (2002)
Numeracy
Examples (2001) Contracted by EDWA to develop a set of brochures
outlining examples of Numeracy Across the Curriculum for primary
and secondary school and in a range of Learning Areas.

SA Numeracy
Research Circle (2001) Developed and lead the research circles,
with Murdoch University and for the Department of Training and Education
in SA. It involved teachers from members of the SA Middle Schooling
Network in SA, meeting for professional development on numeracy
and on conducting research, planning, conducting and documenting
action research and action learning projects.
ACT Numeracy
Research Circles (2000) Developed and lead the research circles,
with the Australian National Schools Network and for the Department
of Education and Children�s Services in the ACT. It involved teachers
from primary and high schools in Canberra (ACT). This involved teachers
meeting for professional development on numeracy and on conducting
research, planning, conducting and documenting action research and
action learning projects.
NSW Numeracy Research Circle
(2000) Developed and lead the research circle, with the Australian
National Schools Network and for the Disadvantaged Schools Program
in the NSW Department of Education. It involved teachers from a
group of primary and high schools from city and rural locations
in NSW. This involved teachers meeting for professional development
on numeracy and on conducting research, planning, conducting and
documenting action research and action learning projects.
Numeracy
across the Curriculum (1997-98) An ARC collaborative Project
between Murdoch University and the Education Department of WA and
directed by John Hogan. This was two-year curriculum project conducted
research in 9 schools, primary and secondary, rural and metropolitan,
investigating teaching and learning across the learning areas in
order to inform the development of a framework for numeracy.
Key
Competency Project (1995-96) � RIUMIT A
National DEETYA Key Competency Project run by the Australian Association
of Mathematics Teachers (Inc) (AAMT), directed by John Hogan, investigating
the rich interpretation of the key competency using mathematical
ideas and techniques in practical settings. Research was conducted
in workplaces, TAFEs, schools, and training courses in all states
and territories.
